The Muhlenberg County 4-H Food for Kids Backpack Program currently provides 175 Muhlenberg County youth with food each weekend of the school year. Foods to supply a weekly backpack for one student for the school year cost $160. The Muhlenberg County 4-H Teen Club initiated the Food for Kids Backpack Program several years ago. Youth deliver food stocked backpacks to Muhlenberg County schools on a weekly basis, and spearhead the 4-H Penguin Plunge annual fundraising effort.

Anyone raising $160, enough to sponsor one child for the school year, is invited to join us at the 4-H Penguin Plunge on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Anyone raising at least $160 is invited to take the plunge into the icy waters of the Central City Convention Center outdoor pool. This is great incentive, and great fun. Of course, you don't have to take the plunge in order to participate. Maybe you could challenge your group to raise so many dollars to "not" take the plunge?
